Sugar cane washing water clarification

In the sugar and ethanol industry, the clarification of sugar cane washing water is essential for maintaining processing efficiency and environmental compliance.

A treatment process using Tanfloc at dosages ranging from 15 to 70 ppm was implemented to improve water quality. The results included 92% removal of total suspended solids (TSS), maintenance of water pH without the need for alkaline agents, and significantly accelerated decantation. The use of Tanfloc also resulted in the production of organic sludge suitable for soil disposal and contributed to reduced equipment corrosion compared to traditional metal salt coagulants.

The process utilised a biodegradable product, supporting more sustainable and operationally efficient clarification practices.
