Removing Tannins from Bore Water

At a brewery site where bore water is treated for both industrial processes and restaurant supply, high levels of colour caused by naturally occurring tannins were impacting water quality. The treatment system included reverse osmosis (RO) filtration, but elevated colour levels posed challenges to both performance and aesthetic standards.

To address this, Tanfloc was trialled as a pre-treatment solution. Dosing Tanfloc at 44 to 50 ppm resulted in 81% to 87% colour removal, significantly improving water clarity and reducing the burden on the RO system.

The use of Tanfloc enables the brewery to maintain high operational efficiency and deliver water that met quality expectations for both production and public use.
